At the England Athletics U15/U17 Championships in Birmingham, Beth Pendlebury won Gold in the U15 Discus and Silver in the Shot, Fin Dobson Emmas won Silver in the U17 800m and Sara Clough won Bronze in the U17 1500m
Neve Davenport won the English Schools Senior Girls Heptathlon title in Bedford.
The Upper YDL team finished sixth in the National Final at Sportcity.
A record 91 athletes competed in the 5th Combined Events Classic organised by the club. A quote from one parent/coach;
“ Just to say thank you that your CE competition / organisation was superbly done, much better indeed than the … champs we attended, in terms of communication / organisation / stadium announcements / updates of time changes / fabulous and quick scoring website / friendly atmosphere and officiating for the kids / medical help / and great location”
470 athletes competed at the two most recent Medal Meetings. That brings the total number of athletes to have competed in our Grand Prix and Medal Meetings this summer to over 5000.
At the Club Championships, a record 81 athletes competed in a limited programme setting meeting 20 records.
