Trafford Women just miss out on Northern Road Relay Medals



Silksworth near Sunderland was the venue for the Northern Road Relays. The park has a ski slope and therefore is a hilly loop around the parks paths.

 

The U16 Boys got races underway for Trafford with the team finishing 14th out of the 42 teams. Teddy O'Brien continued his great track form with the teams fastest run on leg 1. Youngsters Thomas Fotheringham and Stan Barber then brought the team home with solid runs.

 

In the U18 Men's relay despite being one of the youngest runners Arlo Mander-Tullius recorded the 3rd fastest time of the day by coming home 3rd on leg one. Ben Dutson and Sam Ingleby-castleton then brought the team home in 13th place and first Manchester club.

 

Trafford's Women's team have been improving over the last few years and with a young squad this looks like continuing. First leg saw Beth Reid (17.53) run one of the fastest legs of the day finishing 6th. Alice Stiles (18.29) and Lauren Robinson (18.36) moved the team up to 5th. Sarah Hudak (18.25) is running faster than she has for 10 years and she moved the team up to 4th, establishing the team as the number one Manchester club. Showing good strength depth Trafford’s B team had Kate Meeson (19.23) and Issy Ripon (19.04) running well with youngster Rafaella Ingleby-Castleton (23.11) and Team Manager Sue Exon (30.29) keeping the team in 36th place.

 

Trafford Men's team were lead off by Jordi Evans-Rodriguez (15.59) coming home in 29th out of the 80 teams. Good runs from Sonny Wilson (16.05) and Luke Carrington (16.53) kept the team in the top 26. Joe Bentall (19.58), George Wright (19.09) and Jeff Prest (17.32) brought the team home in 41st.
