At the Novuna British Championships in Birmingham, there was a magnificent performance in the Women`s High Jump for two Trafford Athletes.

At just 21 years old, Gabrielle Garber took Gold with a leap of 1.84m, just one centimetre short of her Lifetime Best. She had three attempts at 1.87m with several thousand people cheering her on.

And taking Bronze, again just 21, was Halle Ferguson with 1.78m. Halle is a serial championship medallist since entering the sport as an Under 13.

Both athletes are coached by Andrew Wood, with Halle under his tutelage all her career.

Gabrielle & Halle will be aiming to at least repeat their success this weekend at the England Championships in Bedford.
