You are here >> Home - News - News ItemNews Item12 November 2025National xc relays The National xc relays traditionally take place in Berry Hill Park, Mansfield. The course is a mixture of hills, rough ground, twisty sections through woods and fast running. The course has been changed a few times due to house building and development of the park, but has stayed similar to the original course for the last 40 years.
Trafford runners tested themselves against the best runners in England in the highly competitive races. Thomas Fotheringham led out the U13 Boys 2km race running 7.41 for 38th place. Stan Barber continued his improvement moving the team up to 25th with an impressive 7.43 on leg 2 and youngster Sebastian White (9.20) ran well to bring home the team in 56th place.
The U15 Boys also over the 2km course saw Sam Ingleby-Castleton run 7.22 on leg 1, then Arlo Mander Tuilus (6.53) ran the 6th fastest time on leg 2 and running 7.18 Thomas Daly brought the team home in 40th. In a large field Logan Grocott (7.43), Daniel White (8.19) and Joe Bowden (8.37) finished 82nd for Trafford's B team.
In the U17 Men's race over 3km Tio Austin (9.21) finished strongly to put Trafford in 13th place. Pio Aron (9.33) had been suffering from a cold but moved the team up to 8th place. Fin Dobson Emmas (9.20) couldn't quite catch the top three but with the 3rd fastest time on leg 3 he moved the team up to 5th and 1st Northern Team. Trafford's B team were also 5th B team overall, Adrian White (9.35), Evan Lewis (10.04) and Zach Rose (9.53) bringing the team home in 28th place. In the C team Archie Greenwood (10.10) ran well but looking strong throughout the race Ben Gardner (9.35) had an amazing run.
In the U17 Women's race over the 2.5km course the team looked very strong as they all moved through the field to finish 28th, Rachel Bowden (10.01), Sarah Smith (10.25) and Beth Stanley (10.45). Again there was good depth in the team with Ava Evans (11.28) and Genny Jackson (12.11) running well in the B team. Trafford had incomplete teams in the Men's and Women's u20 races but Jay Hutchinson (9.47), Luke Carrington (10.03) and Rafaelle Ingleby-Castleton (11.18) all performed well.
In the Senior Men's race over a 2 lap 5km distance Jordi Evans-Rodriguez (16.35) clocked the clubs fastest time on leg 1, Jeff Prest (18.45), George Wright (19.48) and Jacob Fletcher (20.49) brought the team home in 86th place.
It was in the Senior Women's race that Trafford had one of their highest finishes for a long time. Beth Reid is in great form and showed that finishing 9th in 10.01 on leg 1 of the 3km course. Sarah Hudak (11.07) and Issy Ripon (11.02) bringing the team home in 12th place out of the 122 teams that started. With Kate Meeson (11.10), Lauren Robinson (11.53) and Louise Ambler (13.27) bringing the B team home in 53rd place, there is great depth in the women's team.
