Trafford's 2019 Northern League campaign begins on Sunday 19th May in Carlisle.  The combined female and male squad consisting of U17s up to veterans is team managed by Simon O’Meara and supported by the finest officials, coaches and officials in the North West, probably the universe.

We are in Division 3WC (W for West, C for Central) along with: Border Harriers & AC, Burnley AC, Bury AC, East Cheshire Harriers & Tameside AC and Kendal AAC.  Here are the dates and venues of all matches: Sunday 19th May (Carlisle), Sunday 16th June (Stretford), Sunday 14th July (Bury), Saturday 10th August (Ashton). 

Last year we came close to promotion to Division 2, finishing just one spot behind the required in the final match.  The last time we graced the second tier was 2016 but promotion this year is a very realistic target. 

It’s a six team division, which means points are allocated as follows: A event: 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 B event: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 1. 

In the throws, long jump and triple jump, competitors have three goes, then the top six who have achieved the standard are entitled to three more.  The standards are: Discus 25m (men & women), Javelin 35m (men) & 25m (women), Hammer 25m (men) & 20m (women), Shot 9m (men) & 8m (women), Long Jump 5.50 (men) & 4.50 (women), Triple Jump 10.00m (men) & 8.50m (women). 

It’s an exciting squad heading to the first match with Chayce Smith, Chiara Ramponi, Chichi Agwu, Meg McHugh and Ryan Sciacca making their Northern League debuts for the club.
