You are here >> Home - News - News ItemNews Item5 June 2025In Memory of George HurstTrafford AC is deeply saddened to share the news of the sudden passing of George Hurst, a valued coach, athlete, and member of our club.
George began his athletics journey with Trafford in 2013 as a talented U13 athlete. He quickly stood out, setting a club record in the U13 Boys’ 75m hurdles — a record he held until 2024. As he progressed, George became a regular competitor in the Youth Development League (YDL) and went on to proudly represent Trafford in both the Northern League and the National Athletics League (NAL).
More recently, George took on a coaching role, supporting our U11 and U13 athletes and managing the Sportshall teams. He was also an active member of our groundstaff team, always willing to help wherever he could.
George was a dedicated and much-loved part of the Trafford AC family. His enthusiasm, kindness, and commitment to the club touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and friends at this very sad time.
We will be setting up a book of condolence for anyone who wishes to share a message in memory of George. The book will be located at reception.
If you're unable to sign in person, you're welcome to send us a message — we will print and include it in the book on your behalf. |
