Freddie Meredith has been one of Trafford's and the North's top runners for the last few years.  The 17 year-old has regularly won County Championships and was second in last winter's Northern Croos-Country Championships.

In early December it was confirmed Freddie had a rare germ cell tumour on the brain. He has had an operation since his diagnosis and is currently going through twelve weeks of chemotherapy to be followed by six weeks of radiotherapy.  Freddie is planning on training for and then racing the Manchester Half Marathon in October and is hoping to raise money for the Christie Charity researching cancer that affects teenagers and young adults.
