Sharon Colyear, the club`s first major star, has passed away at the age of 69.

Sharon reached the 1976 Montreal Olympic Semi Final in the sprint hurdles.

She then missed the final by one place in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

She won Gold & Bronze in the Commonwealth Games and a Silver in the European Championships.

In the many tributes received, one said “..in my estimate the greatest natural athlete ever to grace the Stretford/Trafford team.”
