In the beautiful hills around Settle, Giggleswick school held the annual English Schools Fell Championship race. The course is a demanding long one with its fast running, jump over a stream and steep hills.
Trafford's top runner on the day was 12 year old Thomas Daly. The year 8 runner was competing against athletes in his school year and the year above. After a steady start once the course started to hit the hills, Thomas moved through for an impressive 7th place, only 30 seconds behind 2nd place in a race where there were 71 finishers.
In the year 10 and 11 age group (GCSE years) Rachel Bowden ran well against the best in the country to finish 13th and Evan Lewis started his winter season with a steady 14th place.
In the year 12/13 (A level years) race after a long summer season racing on the fells Jay Hutchinson (12th) and Josh Watson (17th) were both pleased with their runs.
