On Saturday it was the National Road Relays held at Birmingham. These are exciting close races held over a quite hilly course around the woods of Sutton Park.
After picking up the silver medals in the Northern U17 Men's relay the same team of bottom year u17's took on the best in the country. Tio Austin (12.01) lead the team off recording the fastest Trafford time of the day, finishing 15th in a very competitive first leg. Pio Aron (12.04) once again carved through the field to move Trafford up to second place behind their Northern rivals Salford. With some of the fastest runners in the race setting off just behind Fin Dobson Emmas (12.27) he did well to hold on to 6th place and again 2nd fastest Northern club.
Trafford's women's team is looking stronger this winter and this improvement is being spearheaded by Vicky Cronin. After a recent 35min 10km PB she led the team off with a 15.07 time, Sarah Hudak (16.52), Zoe Storr (17.31) and Beth Reid (16.28) meant the team finished well up in 37th place.
