Liverpool Cross Challenge & Wilmslow 10k

Team Trafford produce swift performances at Sefton Park

Trafford’s young male athletes produced one of the best in-depth performances in recent years at the Liverpool Cross Challenge (incorporating the British Trials).

Despite the tough weather conditions the event always produces a fiercely competitive racing standard from Britain’s top XC exponents.

Finley Proffitt led the way, following a track season where he went sub 3:50 for1500m, finishing a superb 13th in the U20 race (7k) in 20:42.

James Knockton stormed to 17th in the U17 5.5k race in 17:48. He was followed by Will Parker who had a strong run in 42nd place.

Freddie Meredith’s 10th place was a stunning return (10:04) over 3k, in the U15 race. With Ben Keely rounding off a top performance for the squad with 10th position over the same distance against the best the country has to offer in the U13 boys’ race.
