Trafford AC’s A team performed well in the 55th University of Manchester XC Relays held over a new route, in the now traditional venue of the University of Manchester Playing Fields under sunny skies.

 

In one of their strongest showings in recent years, the team finished in a strong 17th place from 53 teams.

 

Harry Sinclair (10:01), in his first race since attending Birmingham University, led the six man team off and was well supported by Johnny Stock (10:52) in his first race as an U20,  Laurence Skidmore (10:25 approx), recently joined from reading,  Team Manager Jeff Prest  (10:24 approx ) Leeds University graduate Matt Sutton (10:31) with Finn Proffitt, also at Birmingham University, bringing the team home with one of the quickest 3k legs of the day (9:30).

 

The mixed team featured just one female athlete Kate Meeson, our Northern League Ladies Team Manager, who together with further legs from Matt Sutton Jeff Prest, a double from the returning Gavin Tomlinson, plus Jacob Fletcher, finished 8th.

 

Many of the Trafford athletes also competed an additional leg for their respective university teams.
