December Indoor Roundup and Upcoming Indoor Competitions



The indoor athletics season got underway in December and Trafford athletes have taken the opportunity to put early winter training into practise.  Below are some results with links to full results and a list of indoor events in January.

 

MMTG Christmas Throwers Weight Pentathlon: Dan Upton 2nd V40 and 5th overall (https://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2017/weightspentathlon2017.pdf)

 

First Manchester Indoor Open:

60m: Louis Gyanfi (U17) 7.73, Jack Morrissey (U17) 7.60, Jamall Walters (U17) 7.28, Sanchez Nguie (U20) 7.34,  Dimarco Bowes (U17) 7.47,  Ayoola Dania (U17) 7.84, Sam Beesley (U17) 7.69, Ahmed Simeen (U17) 7.71

 

300m: Reece Ingley (Sen) 35.77, Adam Bellis (Sen) 37.03 

600m: Mikey Kingston (U20) 1:26.66, Rushwan Lewis (U20) 1:31.28

The second and third of the Manchester Indoor Opens is 7th and 21st January, respectively, the Northern Athletics Indoor Championships (Senior and U17) is 13-14th January and the Sheffield Festival of Athletics Indoor Open is 28th January (links to entries can be found here: https://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2018/).

 

Finally, Sally Woolhouse-Read won the club’s 5k xmas handicap and Marina Guardascione won the 2.5k handicap (http://www.traffordac.co.uk).
