Cheshire League Match 2 Report
The second match of Trafford’s Cheshire League 2017 campaign was on Sunday 2nd July in Wrexham.
On a sunny day in the Welsh town there were some exciting Trafford performances with many PBs acheived.
It was great to see Danny Wassall (SM) back in the mix. After several years away from competition he recorded a decent 5.97 in the long jump. Meanwhile on the infield Gavin Pemberton threw a hammer PB of 24.47!
Also in the long jump were U17s George Hurst, Mile Pillinger and Jacob Yates, who all recorded bests of 5.60, 4.71 and 4.19, respectively. George and Jacob also registered PBs in the 200 with 25.20 and 26.70, respectively.
For the U15M, Charlie Mansfield ran a speedy 13.7 in the 100 and a promising 6.15 in the shot. Samuel Bryan ran well to record a 2:22.9 PB in his 800.
Charlie Massey and Elliot Johnson (U13M) jumped PBs of 4.51 and 3.88 in the Long Jump, respectively. The pair also threw shot PBs of 13.69 (Elliot) and 14.71 (Charlie). The U13M then finished second in the 4x100 in 59.1, top effort!
For the senior women, Vicki Cronin set two very respectable times of 10:12 and 2:21 in the 3000 and 800.
Charlie Seymour and Tiffany James (U17W) both raced the 200 and recorded personal bests of 27.50 and 28.70, respectively. They also chipped in to help with the shot, Tiffany even improving to a best of 6.56!
In the U15W, Ellina Connor and Grace Hodson set 200 PBs of 28.00 and 29.10, respectively. Ellina also set a Long Jump best of 4.69 and Grace did the same with 4.27. Emily Pemberton smashed the 22m barrier with 23.79 in the Javelin. Meanwhile in the 1500 Erin Grime clocked an impressive PB of 5:14.6.
In the U13W 200, there were PBs from: Trezeguet Taylor (26.60), Halle Ferguson (27.20), Zara Burns (30.10) amd Millie Bayman (31.00). Trezeguet and Halle also threw shot bests and Halle equalled her impressive High Jump PB of 1.45. Nicola Mason (4:01.40), Isabelle Bryan (4:14.60), Marina Guardascione (4:32.80) and Helen Worsley (5:22.50) all ran superbly in the 1200 to set PBs.
Martha McCormack (U11W) did the Trafford colours proud, setting a PB of 2:10.70 in the 600.
Meanwhile in the 4x100 there were victorious runs from the U13W (56.2) and U15W (55.3).
